NO:ID Petition / FUTURE

We will probably not be able to work under the extreme freedom we have been enjoying so far throughout all of 2008. There is a threat on our project, there are forces that want to rent out the premises we have kept open for the public. There are many ways to support our project. The simplest one is to come down and sign our petition.

The 2.500th subscriber to our newsletter will get a free t-shirt.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

the good news : the gallery is having broadband now. This will allow us to always keep our website up to date, and allow you to do your online promotion with us. It's free, except for the notorious donation. We are a non-profit project and do not receive external funding, but we have to pay the cost for the initial phone line connection, plus the first two months in advance, so to say the gallery is in urgent need to finance this luxury. There are a couple of ways to do this. The easiest is to come to one of our fabulous events and donate hard cash. Or you buy some of the stuff from the screen print workshop - excellent xmas presents.

The last chance before xmas will be on the NO:ID Party on Fri Dec 14th.

This week:

Exhibition:

Aga Bernacka: Zero State Gravity.

Workshop on Monday and Tuesday. The workshop will take a break till new year. Call Jan on 07939843968 for participation. The workshop shop is open on Monday and Tuesday and during exhibition hours.

Coming up:

Abstract City & Sketches for Juxtaposer
An Exhibition in light by Lidia Casas & Leon Ashley
Exhibition 18-21 October 2007
Private View Wed 17th @ 6.30pm
26 Calvert Avenue, Wed-Fri 4pm-9pm

1 - Front Gallery: Sketches for Juxtaposer, by Leon Ashley

Leon Ashley has a BA in Visual Arts from Salford University, Greater
Manchester. The main theme of his work is transmutation, the ephemeral nature
of all things, the mutability of not only nature but of all things artificial
and imaginary. Sketches for Juxtaposer is the start of a series of images
contrasting women's magazines/fashion magazines with pornography - raising some
interesting questions about how women are depicted in society.

2 - Back Gallery: Abstract City, by Lidia Casas

Lidia Casas has an MA in Photography from London College of Communication and
she has contributed to group exhibitions in London and Spain. Her work
Abstract City consists of compositions of glowing light and colour that are the
result of photographing office blocks of the City and Canary Wharf at night.
These abstract images, displayed as a photographic lightbox, are achieved by
moving the camera whilst keeping the shutter open and convey a sense of the
city as a dynamic and futuristic environment.

3 - Window Gallery

The middle room is now hosting a marvellous collection of Toni Pronier's
famous teddy bear sculptures, an installation visible day and night.
So even if you can't get in the gallery glance at that.

4 - Shop Gallery

Full of amazing prints and one-off's from the NO:ID screen print workshop,
amazing prints, patches, jumpers, t-shirts, and tops. Please support our efforts with your purchase.

Hello darlings,

thanks to everyone who made last friday such a great and unforgettable
evening, and that was about everyone who was there.

We are basically convinced that we should do more events in there, and
here is what we came up with:

---> NO:ID night of poetry - Friday Oct 5th (in 2 weeks time)

Drawing on the fact that we come from all the four corners of the globe,
we would love to invite you all to bring an share a song, or a poem,

poetry nights.) If you have other ideas how to enrich this evening,
want to be on the flyer, please tell us and it will be on the email
next week.

---> Gallery this week:

2 artists born in Japan present their stuff.

---> Cinema this week:

Surprise, surprise.

---> Screen Printing:
